features collaborations from American rappers Othello and Raashan Ahmad, British producer DJ Format and French soul-singer Dajla. Plus de dix ans derrière le micro, une signature en major, une tournée en Chine et des incursions dans le théâtre auraient pu apaiser la verve de Fisto. Pourtant, celui qui se définissait comme étant «juste un loser» en 2003, revient sur le devant de la scène avec un opus dense et souvent cinglant, résumant un parcours atypique. Du statut éphémère de «rappeur skyrockien» à celui de figure de proue d’un rap indé «jazzy», il n’en faudrait pas plus pour réduire la musique de Fisto, qui sait composer avec les codes du rap pour mieux s’en écarter...
Produit par Soul Square, ce premier album réussit la gageure d'être tourné vers le monde d’aujourd’hui tout en puisant dans l’énergie du rap américain des 90’s. La réalisation résolument moderne de DJ Atom ( BEat Torrent, C2C) souligne cet éternel paradoxe : faire du neuf avec du vieux.
Les ombres de Jeru The Damaja, Slum Village ou même Akhenaton ou Fabe traînent tout au long de cet opus, et l’on se plaît à rêver à nouveau d’un rap adulte qui remplisse autant les cerveaux que les têtes de gondoles.
Fisto est un idéaliste doué de raison, arpentant un chemin de traverse «entre underground et marketing» ... Comme disait Desproges, un « artiste dégagé» à découvrir d’urgence !
